At the center of the park stands a flagpole representing the location of Somonauk on a world map. Radiating outward are scaled pathways leading to the rest of the world. Specifically engraved stones (see right) pinpoint each location in the walkway showing the relationship of the locations to Somonauk. You will find the equator and both poles in addition to other interesting places. Podiums throughout the park feature photos and facts about these locations. Others are dedicated to the history and fundamentals of navigation and Finding Heroes. |
